Mr. Gomberg earned his law degree from Albany Law School, cum laude, where he completed a concentration in business law, with honors. He served as Senior Editor of the Albany Law Review, as well as a director of the Moot Court Program. His honors include membership in the Order of Barristers, the Justinian Honor Society, and the Dean’s List during each eligible semester of law school. Mr. Gomberg also competed on and later served as student coach of the school’s national award-winning negotiations team.
Mr. Gomberg earned his B.S. in Finance from Binghamton University’s School of Management, magna cum laude, where he was a PricewaterhouseCoopers Scholar, and one of eleven university recipients of the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. Additionally, he served as President of the Finance Society, and earned membership in Beta Alpha Psi, the finance and accounting honors fraternity.
Previously, he was a summer associate in the corporate practice group of a mid-size upstate New York law firm. He has completed judicial placements with The Honorable Thomas J. McAvoy, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of New York, and The Honorable David R. Homer, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of New York. He brings experience with the Investor Protection and Consumer Protection bureaus of the New York State Office of the Attorney General. Moreover, he has held positions with a prominent philanthropic consulting firm and with GE Capital.
He joined Levitt LLP shortly after graduation from law school, bringing with him significant legal and business experience. He practices in the areas of commercial litigation and is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Florida, and the District of Columbia. Super Lawyers Magazine has named Mr. Gomberg one of its “Rising Stars” in the area of business litigation for the New York City Metro Area. Long Island Pulse Magazine has also named him as a “Top Legal Eagle”.
In late 2011, Mr. Gomberg participated as assistant trial counsel in the firm’s successful California federal court jury verdict for the defense in Kalitta Air, L.L.C. v. Central Texas Airborne Systems Inc. in which our client’s potential exposure was $1 billion. Among his other responsibilities in this role, Mr. Gomberg represented our client in oral argument before the court, worked closely with financial experts, and managed trial exhibits and trial technology.
