Timothy J. Chorvat is a litigator who focuses in the areas of securities, class action and bankruptcy-related matters. He is AV Peer Review Rated, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability. Mr. Chorvat also is a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
Mr. Chorvat has published extensively on cutting-edge litigation issues, including the preservation and use of electronically stored information. He is the chair of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Civil Practice and Procedure Section Council and website co-chair of the Seventh Circuit Electronic Discovery Pilot Program Committee. He is an author of the chapters of Moore’s Federal Practice that deal with class actions and derivative actions, and has written and edited numerous publications on litigation-related topics.
Mr. Chorvat is a member of the firm’s Securities Litigation and Enforcement, Class Action, and Bankruptcy Litigation Practices and the Tenant-in-Common Workout Task Force. He also serves on the International Committee. He recently served as Chair of the Working Group on Electronic Evidence for the American Bar Association’s Cyberspace Law Committee and is a member of the Electronic Discovery in Bankruptcy Cases Working Group of the ABA’s Committee on Bankruptcy Court Structure and the Insolvency Process.
