Teresa “Terry” joined Crowell & Moring LLP, in their Washington, DC, office in November 2013 as a partner in the Intellectual Property Group, and as a director with C&M International, Ltd., the international trade and investment consulting firm affiliated with Crowell. Prior to joining Crowell, she served as Acting Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property, and Acting Director of the USPTO. Terry focuses on intellectual property and dispute resolution related to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other life science issues. She worked for Ethyl Corporation from 1980 through 1984, and the patent boutique firm Burns, Doane, Swecker & Mathis in Alexandria, VA. Terry is the former president of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and a past president of the National Inventors Hall of Fame. She is a licensed pharmacist. Terry obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University and her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan. Terry is a member of the Steering Committee for The Sedona Conference Working Group 9 on Patent Damages and Remedies (WG9) and Working Group 10 on Patent Litigation Best Practices (WG10).
