Tanya Holcomb is Vice President and General Counsel, Global Litigation for Honeywell International
Inc., a $35 billion global, Fortune 100 technology company that delivers industry specific solutions
including aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings and industry; and
performance materials. With operations in 70 countries and approximately 110,000 employees and 970
sites worldwide, Honeywell addresses some of the world’s most critical challenges around energy, safety,
security, productivity and global urbanization.
Tanya is responsible for strategic direction and management of all domestic and international litigation,
outside counsel relationships, legal spend, and cost control strategies, as well as Honeywell’s Global
Records and Information Management and eDiscovery functions. She seeks to bring efficiency,
innovation and strategic leadership to Honeywell’s litigation prevention and litigation management
efforts. In 2014, Tanya was selected by the CEO to participate in Honeywell’s premier and most senior
leadership program designed for high performing executives. She was recently appointed the company’s
Corporate Council on Data Governance.
Tanya is also a leader on the Law Department’s Inclusion and Diversity Council where she drives efforts
to improve diversity among Honeywell’s outside counsel and in the legal profession. She believes
diversity is a competitive advantage in the court room. Today, 75% of Honeywell trials are staffed by
diverse teams. To drive retention of diverse counsel, she developed an innovative Continuing Legal
Education program that provides opportunities for diverse outside lawyers to showcase their expertise and
develop critical client relationships with Honeywell attorneys.
Prior to Honeywell, Tanya served as Senior Attorney for BASF Corporation where she developed an
impressive record and was selected to participate in BASF’s Leadership Development Program. Tanya
began her legal career in 1991 with the Gibbons law firm, where she maintained a varied caseload
including toxic tort, products liability, commercial and insurance coverage litigation.
In 2014, Tanya received The Network Journal’s 25 Influential Black Women in Business Award and she
has been recognized repeatedly by New Jersey Monthly Magazine as one of the state’s Top Attorneys.
She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including DRI, the International Bar Association, and
various State Bar Associations. Tanya is on the Board of the New Jersey Civil Justice Institute and is a
member of the Executive Leadership Council.
Tanya is a 1991 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center where she distinguished herself in the
area of appellate advocacy. She was the first African-American and third woman in the school’s history to
win its prestigious William Leahy Cup Moot Court Competition. Tanya’s name is engraved in the wall of
“Best Advocates” in the school’s Moot Court auditorium.
