Matthew L. Miller, Esq. is the Vice President, West Region, at DiscoverReady, based in Valencia, California. He is a non-practicing attorney with over 15 years’ experience. Matthew specifically focuses on providing information governance, legal technology, eDiscovery, fraud data analytics, and computer forensic solutions to his clients.
Matthew co-developed the Information Governance Services offering at Ernst & Young LLP where he spent the past 6 years in their Forensic Technology & Discovery Services practice prior to DiscoverReady. He has handled complex projects such as protecting sensitive IP and data disposition where his team scanned 10 petabytes of data to identify ‘crown jewels’ and ‘ROT’, led the advanced forensic recovery for EMEIA related to the SONY hack, and led a 14-country DOJ anti-trust litigation response for a global bank. He is an expert in information governance, eDiscovery, and investigations, having spoken on best practices more than 30 times in the United States, Canada and Australia.
He started as a construction litigation attorney in New Jersey, handling his first eDiscovery challenges related to the cleanup of steel from the collapse of WTC I & II. Matthew was later the Product Manager for EnCase eDiscovery and Legal Hold at Guidance Software. He also ran Forsythe Technology's Information Governance & eDiscovery practice implementing both process and technology solutions across the US.
Matthew is quoted in the Forbes.com article “How Do Top Cybersecurity Experts Keep Our Data Safe?” and in the Compliance Week article “Getting a Grip on Investigations and Data”, and is a member of the E-Discovery/Information Governance Board of Advisors at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He received his BS from Syracuse University Whitman School of Business and his JD from Hofstra University School of Law.
