Lee Neubecker is an independent cyber security researcher and blogger at leeneubecker.com. Most recently, Neubecker started a cyber security and computer forensics firm Great Lakes Forensics where he serves as CEO and Principal Consultant to his clients and is looking for new projects and talented employees to join his Chicago based firm.
Before starting Great Lakes Forensics in August of 2018, Neubecker was the Chief Information Officer for Haystack Information Discovery, a leading national provider of eDiscovery services. Prior to Haystack, Neubecker started and grew Forensicon.com into one of the premier computer forensics expert witness firms in the midwest before selling the firm to QDiscovery in 2016. A recognized expert in the computer forensics field, Neubecker’s firm was hired as an expert witness in an investigation culminating in one of the largest cyber-security-related verdicts awarded in Wisconsin, $147 Million. Neubecker assisted federal law enforcement authorities with analyzing video and social media content in an effort to help identify the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects. Neubecker has been recognized by Who’s Who Legal as one of the top global cyber security and computer forensics experts.
Prior to founding Forensicon, Neubecker managed online communities for Lycos.com, where he led the company’s response to discovery requests from regulatory agencies including the SEC and federal law enforcement agencies. Neubecker served as the past President of the High Tech Crime Association Midwest (HTCIA), a member of the U.S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and also is an active committee member of the Union League Club of Chicago. Neubecker serves as a commissioner for the River Forest Economic Development Council in his home community. Neubecker earned a B.A. in business finance, magna cum laude, from Eastern Michigan University in 1994, his M.B.A., magna cum laude, from Babson College in 1998. Neubecker also is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Neubecker enjoys technology and speaking to diverse audiences and is looking to help organizations solve their challenges with electronic data and cyber security threats.
