As a member of Law Department's Compliance, Investigations, and Policy team, I serve as legal subject matter expert for:

• Political activity laws, including counseling and training on federal, state, and local campaign contribution laws / PACs / lobbying laws / ballot measures / ethics laws concerning public officials (e.g., gifts, post-employment restrictions). Built and lead a comprehensive political law compliance program. Manage: - political report filings in 25 jurisdictions; - contracts with 50+ lobbyists / political consultants; - compliance for ~$10MM/annual corporate and PAC, direct and independent, campaign contributions; - cases in the Federal Election Commission; and annual risk assessment process. Primary internal client: Policy, Government, and Public Affairs.  

• Corporate responsibility laws, including counseling and training on compliance with global measures on business & human rights, revenue transparency, forced labor, environmental and social governance disclosure, government contracts, and benchmarking, as they affect corporate governance and enterprise risk management. Advise on human rights-related dispute settlement mechanisms. Counsel on 100+ Social Investment grant agreements annually. Primary internal clients: Public Policy & Corporate Responsibility, Social Investment, and Global Issues Committee. 

• Internal investigations, including authoring comprehensive internal investigations manual, and conducting more than a dozen investigations. Work includes developing investigation plan, interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, drafting reports and recommendations. Work in conjunction with Global Security.  

• Communications, including reviewing and providing legal advice on internal and external communications such as press releases and website content. Primary client: Public Affairs.
