Jon focuses his practice on complex litigation, arbitration and investigations, primarily involving regulated areas: corporate governance, securities, privacy, consumer protection, and intellectual property. He has represented U.S. and multinational clients from a variety of industries in state and federal trial and appellate courts across the U.S.; in arbitrations and mediations, including AAA, ICDR and JAMS; and in administrative proceedings and investigations, including before numerous federal and state agencies, and state attorneys general.
Jon is Chair of the firm's Electronic Information Group, which focuses on U.S. and cross-border electronic discovery and information governance issues, and also is the partner in charge of the firm’s Litigation Support infrastructure. He regularly counsels clients on a range of information governance and risk issues. He publishes and speaks on topics involving U.S. and international issues affecting litigation, electronic discovery, information governance, and other information risks.
Jon is a member of The Sedona Conference (WG1, WG6, and WG11) and several other associations, an advisory board member of two international consulting firms, and a former council member of the Virginia Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section. After law school, he served as a law clerk for The Honorable James C. Cacheris (E.D.Va.). During law school, he served as a law clerk extern for The Honorable B. Waugh Crigler (W.D.Va.).
