Jim is Senior Counsel in the Silicon Valley office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he represents clients in preventing and resolving trade secret and patent disputes. A noted author and teacher, his most recent book is Secrets: Managing Information Assets in the Age of Cyberespionage. The Senate Judiciary Committee relied on him for expert testimony and advice during consideration of the recently-passed Defend Trade Secrets Act. Jim is a former Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and President of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He currently serves as Chairman of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Selection Board.
