AVA GUO, an associate in Sidley’s Litigation practice, focuses her practice on representing individual and corporate clients in white collar matters, internal investigations, government enforcement actions and commercial litigation and disputes. Ava has experience representing clients before law enforcement and regulatory agencies, including the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Representation of a medical device company in product liability and securities class action suits
Representation of one of the largest U.S. banks in a Congressional investigation
Representation of a Big Four accounting firm in a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigation
Representation of a Fortune 500 telecommunications company in responding to a Department of Justice (DOJ) antitrust Second Request
Representation of an investment bank in RMBS-related investigations by the SEC, state attorneys general and the DOJ
Conducted an independent investigation into allegations that the American Psychological Association colluded with government officials after 9/11 to change its ethics code and take other actions to make it easier for psychologists to participate in abusive interrogations of foreign detainees
Conducted internal investigations involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the False Claims Act
Ava has worked on matters and investigations involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the False Claims Act. Ava also has experience with technology-assisted review tools and the use of predictive coding in commercial litigation matters, and has worked with clients on various e-discovery issues.
