Tony Barnes is an E-Discovery Staff Attorney and Manager in Cooley's E-Discovery & Document Retention Department, and a member of the Cooley Litigation department. He joined the firm in 2011 and is resident in the San Francisco office.
Mr. Barnes' practice focuses on electronic discovery law and management of electronically stored information in litigation matters. His experience includes all aspects of electronic discovery, including class actions, regulatory investigations, and intellectual property disputes. His counseling work focuses on proactive discovery readiness, records and information management, data privacy and security issues, effective data preservation under the legal hold, defensible data deletion, and project management of electronic discovery matters, including managing large document reviews.
Prior to joining Cooley, Mr. Barnes was a Senior Consultant at FTI Consulting in the Technology segment, and an electronic discovery staff attorney at New York-based firms.
Mr. Barnes received his JD from Loyola Law School in 1998 and is a member of New York and California State Bars.
