
Steve Ruckman is a senior associate in the Washington, DC, office of BuckleySandler, where his practice focuses on privacy, cyber risk, mobile payments, and data security, as well as federal and state investigations and enforcement actions.
Steve joined BuckleySandler from the Federal Communications Commission, where he served as Senior Policy Advisor to Commission’s Enforcement Bureau Chief, advising him on enforcement strategies in the areas of privacy and data security.
Prior to his time at the FCC, Steve spent five years as an Assistant Attorney General at the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, where he was the first Director of the Office’s Internet Privacy Unit. The Unit played a leading role in several multi-state investigations into practices that threatened consumers’ online privacy and security, including the largest privacy settlement in AG history.
Steve is a graduate of Yale Law School and Yale Divinity School.
