Judge Hochberg served as a U.S. District Judge for the District of New Jersey from 1999-2015. She recently retired from the bench and now serves as an independent mediator, arbitrator, and litigation consultant on complex cases. Judge Hochberg has a distinguished career in public service: Prior to her service as a federal judge, Judge Hochberg was the U. S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey; the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury; Senior Deputy Chief Counsel in the Office of Thrift Supervision; and Legal Assistant to the Chairman of the Securities &Exchange Commission. She was also a partner in the private practice of law, and a law clerk to the Hon. Spottswood Robinson III. Judge Hochberg graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and summa cum lauded from Tufts University. Judge Hochberg is a Judicial Advisor for The Sedona Conference Working Group 9 on Patent Damages and Remedies (WG9) and Working Group 10 on Patent Litigation Best Practices (WG10) Steering Committee.
