Kim Roy serves as the Director of Client Services and E-Discovery Counsel, where she manages the firm’s E-Discovery services. In addition, she evaluates clients’ legal needs and how our attorneys and employees can provide better service. She also oversees lawyer and paralegal training and other initiatives that benefit from her professional experience as a former in-house counsel.
Ms. Roy was formerly Senior Counsel – Litigation and Electronic Discovery with Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. (formerly The Shaw Group Inc.) where she managed the company’s major claims litigated in state or federal court and domestic or international arbitrations. Such claims included a variety of multimillion dollar construction disputes, facilities disputes, international class action employment matters, and shareholder litigation arising from CB&I’s $3 billion acquisition of The Shaw Group Inc. In addition, Ms. Roy advised the company on Electronic Discovery best practices and handled the negotiation, retention, collection and production processes for all legal disputes.
Prior to joining Shaw in August 2009, Ms. Roy practiced law in the Litigation Section of Phelps in the Baton Rouge office where she gained extensive experience in commercial litigation matters, including multimillion dollar construction defect claims, significant securities cases, expropriation actions and high-profile challenges to state legislation.
