Kara Ricupero became Head of eBay’s eDiscovery and Records and Information Management group in July of 2015. Prior to that, Kara acted as eDiscovery counsel for eBay and its family of companies beginning in 2014. Kara is responsible for developing and managing eBay’s discovery strategy in litigation and government investigations, as well as its records and information governance program. Kara has worked with her team to expand eBay’s in-house eDiscovery capabilities and technologies, create standardized and defensible workflows, and to implement cost-effective strategies for the preservation, collection, review, and production of electronically stored information.
Prior to coming to eBay, Kara was an equity shareholder with the Arizona law firm of Ryley, Carlock and Applewhite in its Litigation Group. Kara focused her practice in the area of commercial litigation, real property disputes and condemnation. Kara was also one of the members of Ryley Carlock’s nationally known Document Control Group, counseling clients on legal holds, preservation, spoliation issues and assisting in the creation of record retention schedules for several large corporate clients.
Kara has been practicing law for 16 years and is licensed in the states of Arizona and New York.
