Jonathan Armstrong

Compliance & Technology Lawyer, PartnerCorderyConnectContact

I'm a lawyer helping multinational clients with risk and compliance across Europe. Recent projects include lots of GDPR & data transfer, UK Bribery Act 2010, internal investigations, security breach, helping retailers move sales online or enter new markets, launch of innovative new products and services, ethics & compliance code implementation, emerging technology, corporate governance & online reputation. Clients include Fortune 250 organisations as well as household names in manufacturing and financial services in Europe.

A regular broadcaster, I have also written articles on technology and compliance related topics. I am a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and Vice-Chair of the New York State Bar Association International Section.

I've spoken at conferences in the US, China, Brazil, Canada, Vietnam, Singapore, Dubai & across Europe.
In addition I've been involved in the development of a number of technology applications going back to the 1990s and was twice a Regional Finalist in the UK Goverment dti/ISI Awards for Innovation in e-commerce.

Many of my clients do interesting things. As a result I occasionally write about client projects & promote their products or services - for example in status updates here or on twitter. I only mention their products or services when I believe in them, when I have their permission & whilst I don't get paid for any endorsements sometimes clients give me samples of their products or allow me to buy them at reduced rates. I do have an interest in a holiday rental in Cornwall and occasionally mention that.
