As Manager of Practice Support Programs, Mr. Shoemaker works with firm management, legal teams, their clients and firm administrative departments on the strategic application of technology to improve the delivery of legal services, including innovative technological solutions to address lawyer and client needs related to efficiency, cost control, project management, process improvement, knowledge management and pricing. His primary areas of responsibility include:

  •   Electronic Discovery

  •   Litigation Technology Support

  •   Legal Project Management

  •   Alternative Fee Arrangements

    Mr. Shoemaker has collaborated with others in the firm to employ new and innovative technologies and processes to better serve the firm’s clients. Some examples include the use of predictive coding to speed execution and decrease the cost of document review, leveraging the services of legal process outsourcing (“LPO”) vendors to staff projects more efficiently, customizing a project management tool and tracking system for ediscovery projects, and implementing a software solution to price alternative fee arrangements and to plan and manage legal budgets more accurately.

    Mr. Shoemaker is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a B.A. in Political Science. He sits on the firm’s Technology Steering Committee and is an associate member of the Maryland State Bar Association.
