Emily T. Acosta represents clients in complex commercial litigation, transportation, construction, insurance, labor and employment, products liability, professional liability and toxic tort matters. She has experience in various stages of litigation and arbitration proceedings and is well-versed in drafting motions, conducting extensive research, and assisting in trial preparation.
Ms. Acosta joined Segal McCambridge as a law clerk in 2012 and as a full-time associate in 2013. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Acosta worked as a law clerk at a prominent personal injury firm and was a judicial extern for the Honorable Drella Savage in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Throughout her professional career, Ms. Acosta has demonstrated a commitment to community service and involvement, which continues today. As a law student, she was elected Treasurer of the Society of Women in Law and, in her final year of law school, was the first woman in over a decade to serve as President of the Student Bar Association. Today, Ms. Acosta remains involved in the Women's Bar Association of Illinois and the Chicago Bar Association. She is also a member of the Chicago-Kent Young Alumni Council and is currently serving a two year term as Vice-President of Continuing Legal Education.
