Masters Showcase with Jeremy Burdge
Kevin Clark, host of the Masters Showcase, interviews Jeremy Burdge, the Litigation Practice Group Lead for the Americas at Hogan Lovells.
About Jeremy: I have been fortunate enough to have worked across several very interesting service delivery models in the legal industry and now have over a decade of experience in creating and managing legal operations strategies. At Hogan Lovells, I am focused on leading, managing, and motivating the "best in the industry" people who bring Legal Project Management ("LPM") disciplines to our Litigation, Arbitration and Employment ("LAE") practices in the Americas. The professionals on my LPM team pride themselves with rapidly adding value to the ways case teams perform both at the client matter level as well as impacting the commercial performance of the Supervising Partners. Competitive budgets, building complex yet flexible project plans and utilizing legal technology to deliver services that directly address our client’s increasingly sophisticated expectations are standard skillsets for the team. Their ability to modernize the legal services we provide along with their knack of fostering trusted advisory relationships with the practice group partners is not only a win-win, but it's the differentiator that sets our LPM team apart from other programs and leads to long-lasting client value. Some of my personal projects that I have in-flight include positioning my team, both physically and with operational strategies, to be the "extra-milers' of our practice group. Research shows that an exponential amount of the total value-added collaboration generated in an organization comes from just 3-5% of employees who are 'extra milers'. Oftentimes, they cluster together driving big changes within an organization. I am also looking to go professional with overlaying practice-wide economic efficiencies and workforce intelligence controls at the cornerstone client portfolio and Practice Group Operations levels which will deliver on aggressive goals annual goals and have sustainable long-lasting results. Lastly, I want to cement my plan on forging more strategic partnerships, both internally and externally, that create competitive advantages in the marketplace or to create client-focused solutions that no other firm would be able to provide on their own.
