Courtney Ingraffia Barton, Esq., CIPP Senior Discovery Counsel AOL LLP
Courtney Ingraffia Barton is Senior Discovery Counsel in the Corporate Legal Department at AOL LLC. She manages complex issues related to litigation preparedness and readiness, compliance, legal holds, and electronic discovery processes for both litigation and regulatory matters. Prior to joining AOL, she had extensive experience advising clients on the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure related to electronically stored information (ESI), records and information management, technology assessments, cost considerations, ethics and international and global data issues. Courtney is also an accomplished litigator, specializing in products liability, toxic tort and environmental matters. She served as a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice from 2004-2005. Courtney is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
Courtney is the current and founding Vice-Chair of the District of Columbia Bar Association Section of Litigation E-Discovery Committee. Courtney is also an active member in the Sedona Conference® where she is a participant in the Working Groups on Electronic Document Retention and Production and International Electronic Information Management, Discovery and Disclosure. She is also an active member of the ABA, the ACC, and she is a member of the Washington D.C. and Virginia Chapters of ARMA International. Courtney serves on the Advisory Board for BNA’s Digital Discovery & E-Evidence, and has served on the ARMA Electronic Discovery Advisory Board and the E-Discovery Advisor Editorial Board.
Courtney received her J.D. cum laude from Tulane Law School, an M.P.H. from Harvard University, and her B.A. from Colby College. She is a member of the District of Columbia and Louisiana Bar Associations. .
